Happy New Year from the Fort Worth Golf Staff
The Fort Worth Golf Staff would like to wish you a Happy New Year and hope your holidays were restful and filled with family and friends. We'd like to take this opportunity to inform you of what's been going on with all of our courses and to extend our appreciation to you for your patronage and support throughout the year of all our facilities.
Pecan Valley
Pecan Valley is in the process of installing new driving range netting around the entire range. The netting along #18 will be 50 feet in heighth and the other side and end of the range will be guarded with 25 foot netting. This project should be complete within the next two weeks. The Hills course might be closed for the next two Mondays to insure the safety of the workers installing the net, but the River will be open.
>The Pecan Valley Golf Association are looking for new members and they've just posted their 2008 tournament schedule. It is listed on our web site at www.fortworthgov.org or you can contact the golf staff at 817-24-1845.
Pecan Valley will be running a 2 for 1 green fee special every Tuesday & Thursday till the end of January. To learn more click on the web coupon at the beginning of this newsletter.
Rockwood
There has been a pipeline easement granted at Rockwood GC to transport natural gas. This project began a few days ago. We do not anticipate any interruption in play as the route is alongside the rough line on #1; #12; and #14. This project is expected to last 30-60 days and there will be limited "open trench" areas. One agreement we worked out with the pipeline company is to have the upper parking lot repaved and curbed, which will be a greatly needed parking addition.
We are awaiting the warm weather this spring in anticipation of the opening of the driving range at Rockwood. We project the range to open sometime June/July 2008 with the practice greens to follow in August. The decision was made to cover the green base material and not sprig the greens until Spring/early Summer 2008.
Rockwood will be running a 2 for 1 Green Fee special valid on Mondays and Wednesdays till the end of January. You can click on the above link to view the special and print off the coupon.

All Fort Worth Golf Courses are now carrying junior equipment/accessories from U. S. Kids Golf. Once you purchase your first set of clubs at our everyday price, any more U. S. Kids Golf sets you may purchase will be at a considerable discount. Please ask our staff about this exceptional program to keep your children in a properly fitted set of clubs.
We're now selling the Skycaddies; model SG4 and SG5. The SG5 has a color screen. The only course which is not handling the Skycaddies is Sycamore Creek. We've checked and believe we've got the best pricing in town. If you purchase a skycaddy prior to beginning your round, your round for that day will "be on the golf staff".
